26/4/2006

EcoTraders held its first conference on April 24, 2006 to introduce the business opportunities created by the global carbon market.  Over sixty participants from the public and private sectors participated in an afternoon devoted to presentations and discussions of climate change and the economic and development opportunities presented by the Kyoto Protocol's economic mechanisms (the Clean Development Mechanism and Joint Implementation).

The afternoon was devoted to presentations by EcoTraders and by guests.  Roni Komar, the President of EcoTraders, gave a presentation entitled "Future Opportunities for Growth in the Carbon Market", while Adi Dishon, EcoTraders' director, spoke about "CDM Projects - The Israeli Experience."  Both of these presentations will be available soon through the EcoTraders website.

Guest presenters at the conference included Mr. Zvi Stefak, the President of the EcoTraders' investor, the Meitav Investment House, who gave a presentation to the crowd on "Expected Trends in the Economy and Capital Markets in 2006" and Dr. Yossi Inbar from the Ministry of the Environment, who spoke about climate change and Israel.

The afternoon concluded with a Question & Answer session about the Kyoto mechanisms and greenhouse gas emission reduction projects.
