The second CDM project in Israel, "Energy efficiency project in the Ramla Cement Plant", was registered today by the UNFCCC. Nesher Cement, which owns the Ramla facility, installed vertical grinding mill, a type of grinding technology that is new in the region, in order to improve energy efficiency in its cement production process.
The first Israeli CDM project to be registered by the UNFCCC, a landfill gas capture-and-destruction project at the Hiriya Landfill, was also developed by EcoTraders Ltd.
